12. 11 episodes of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。 Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, lit. We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day.)
from Wikifrom ANN From CrunchyrollJinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past.
Epi 1: Super Peace Busters
Epi 2: Menma the Hero
Epi 3: Menma Search Party
Epi 4: The White Dress with a Ribbon
Epi 5: Tunnel
Epi 6: Forget me, Don't Forget me
Epi 7: The Real Wish
Epi 8: I Wonder
Epi 9: Menma and Company
Epi 10: Fireworks
Epi 11: The Flower Blooming on That Summer
- I watched all episodes in 4 days. It was good. I like the characters, but Menma gets a bit annoying at the end for some reason. I feel more sympathy with the characters who got left behind and struggled with their guilt and all that. My favorite characters, in order, are Tsuruko, Anjo, and Yukiatsu.
- Jintan can be annoying at times.
- The ending is a big dragged out. I'd rather the good bye scene shortened a bit and the prologue is a bit longer.
- It's sad that these kids have to struggle through their guilt and regrets by themselves.
- I'm not sure when the tragic event occurred, when they are in middle school? They looked very young, almost like elementary kids. Maybe early middle school. That means they've been feeling this way for 4 years at least?
- Where are Poppo's parents?
13. 3 episodes of Chōyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi (超訳百人一首 うた恋い。).
from Wiki
from ANN From CrunchyrollUtakoi is a historical romance story based on Ogura Hyakunin Isshu's interpretation of a collection of 100 romance poems that are used in traditional Japanese karuta card/memory game Utakoi takes life based of the very liberal interpretation of the Hyakunin Isshu anthology of poems featuring 100 romantic poems from 100 different poets such as The Tale of Genji's Murasaki Shikibu. However this romantic - both in story and artistic design - series starts its focus with some twists and turns centered around the love between Fujiwara and her romantic interest Ariwara ...
Epi 1: Takaiko and Narihira / Yukihira and Hiroko
Narihira is quite the ladies’ man, but when the bride to be of emperor catches his eye, he begins to change. Yukihira, his oldest brother, was always the opposite when it came to love
Epi 2: Sadaakira and Yasuko
Sadaakira became emperor at the age of 9 and for a time was served by Narihira, who attempted to teach him how to become a man.
Epi 3: Fukakusa no Shosho and Ono no Komachi
If you visit her every night for 100 nights, she will be yours to marry. But her true dream lies at the palace.
- Another Josei anime - I'm glad to be able watch it. Traditional costumes. YES!
- I can't wait for the next episodes.
- The manga is 4 volumes, ongoing.
Epi 1 and 3 are sad because of star crossed lovers. The first one, the woman had to marry someone else for political reason. The 3rd one, the woman decided that love isn't enough to make her happy, she wanted to make something with her talents; and the man didn't try to stop her. So sad! I thought they would get together.

47. Princess of the Wild Swans. First sentence: I will not do it!" I cried, stamping my foot on the marble floor.
wiki Written by Diane Zahler
Some points:
- borrowed from Bpl
- very fast read. A cute retell and shortened version of Hans Christian Andersen's The Wild Swans (
wiki). An English translation by Jean Hersholt can be found
here via wiki above.
- The cover is so pretty.
I'm a bit disappointed that Meriel was able to communicate and there were people who understood her. That took away her loneliness, but I guess she did need lots of supports - and she did get them.
Bottom line, reread? maybe.
I was hoping for some exciting license announcements over the weekend at Comic con, but there wasn't much. Oh well.
