Oh, I soooooooooooo want Kyou mo Ashita mo in English. (I may have expressed this before... (several times??)) I have about half the series in Japanese... may just get the rest, because it's ridiculously cute. I wonder what Emura-sensei will draw next!
"I may have expressed this before... (several times??)" I think you have since you're big fan of W-Juliet :) I think W-Juliet II is still on going, though, right? Whenever you have free time, would you mind gushing about "Kyou mo Ashita mo" :) I think I may have liked this series better :D
Kyou mo is made up entirely of things I love, like the the cute-boy shoujo mangaka and tiny-adorable-girl who wants to be a shoujo mangaka, and character crossovers from other Emura series... If/when I catch up on the series I'll have a squee-fest for your entertainment :D
Right, W Juliet II is up to 3 volumes now. She's been writing new chapters every so now and then; I haven't read closely enough to know if there's an ongoing plot or if it's just, "Hey, read more stuff about your favourite characters!" Hmm... The sequel to PSME started out as a one-shot and turned into a full-fledged series with a plot, though, so maybe! (speaking of things I really want to read in English...)
Next time I go to Kino, I'll get volume 1 and 2 of Kyou mo, if I can find them. The problem is, I can't read Japanese, so I'd bug you for details :) Doesn't the boy wear glasses, too? "speaking of things I really want to read in English..." Ooh, I want to see your list :) "The sequel to PSME started out as a one-shot and turned into a full-fledged series with a plot ..." I didn't know that, it was available in French, but I think there are a couple of volumes are oop, so I'm hoping that it'd be in English or Jmanga.
You can bug me for details any time :D It's good practice for me! Glasses... he wears them occasionally, while working. Not often, but a nice bonus now and then :D
Haha, someday I should actually write out a list of all the things I'd like to have in English (a long, long list). There would be a ton of obscure shoujo manga from the 80s and early 90s on it...
I read some scans of the PSME sequel at one point. Now I just check out the previews on Betsuhana's website; I haven't bought in in Japanese. If you check out the French edition, let me know how you like it!!
I went to kino to pick up Tenshi 1/2 Houteishiki #1 and Hana no Kishi #4 hence I also got Kyou mo 1-7 (I kicked myself for not finding #8 and 9!) Consider yourself warned :P (I found scans for #1 and laughed so hard while reading. The series is very funny. I like it much better than W-Juliet.) I tried to think why W-Juliet didn't click with me. I also find out the author has a short series Grand Sun only 3 volumes, I may check that out eventually.
"If you check out the French edition, let me know how you like it!!" Will do.
Sounds like you should have plenty to look at with all those books :D You can pick up 8-9 next time! (also: aaaaah no fair no fair I still haven't got Tenshi 1/2 Houteishiki! I waaaaaaaant iiiiiit!!!!) I'm not sure what it is that makes W Juliet not quite click. I like it, but don't have particularly strong feelings either (my strongest memories are the Banri Hidaka reference in v1, and some crazy chase scene with Ito(?) in a duck/bird costume). But I reread the last volume the other night and browsed through my two volumes of W Juliet II, and found it enjoyable and cute... so what's the problem? Maybe because her earlier art was a little more plain? Or because the main characters pair up pretty early in the series, so it lacks the suspense of "when will they get together?" (but I do think that's a nice change from most other shoujo manga.)
I have a lot of love for Grand Sun, though. In W Juli II, Mako and Ito play the main characters (of Grand Sun) for a movie filming :D
