wikiManga Updates Story and Art by Mitsuba Takawashi
From RightStuf since CMX website was taken down and backcover was cover by ILL label!
Vol 1: High school is hard for Kayano. When she tries to confess her love to the kind-but-distant Yuichi, the school bully Takeru makes her life hell. But things get worse when Kayano's mother gets engaged to Takeru's father, the school principal! How will she cope with having the devil himself living in her own home?
Vol 2: Saito Kayano's mother and Edogawa Takeru's father dive into their blissful marriage, as mother and daughter move into the Edogawa household. But things aren't so blissful for Kayano and her new stepbrother, a tortured and complicated kid who switches from being a heartless bully to protective, caring friend. And despite herself, Kayano finds herself falling in love with him! Now Kayano must deal with a new family and new relationship, while she tries to cope with feelings she doesn't understand.
Vol 3: Kayano attempts to make sense of her feelings but is always left confused. Just when she thinks she has seen the good side of Takeru, he does something completely infuriating. Then there is Yuichi, who was always so sweet - but lately, he is showing a much darker side. Will Kayano survive this bizarre love triangle... and who will she ultimately choose?
Vol 4: Kayano and Takeru are finally dating, but a troublemaking pretty-boy named Yuzu might ruin everything! Not only has this menace confessed his love, he has also threatened to hurt Takeru if Kayano doesn't reciprocate his feelings. To make matters worse, there's a theft at school, and Takeru is the main suspect. Kayano's new boyfriend can't be guilty, can he?
Some points:
- Borrowed from ILL.
- By the same author as Crimson Hero which I haven't read but heard good things. I have requested them to ILL, though!
- I'm swinging between liking Kayano and being annoyed with her. She seems to be weak, yet not. I guess her problem is she's too nice and doesn't speak her mind (!?)
- The main annoying thing for me is Kayano had a crush on someone but giving her love letter to a different one by mistake since she didn't look where she was going. At the end, she was forcedstarted to like this delinquent guy! I have negative feelings for delinquent. I don't like bad boys. Period. It's me and my prejudice!
- I like Kayano's friends, though.
- Same old forbidden love trope. Their parents got remarried and they became siblings on paper. So far at the end of volume 4, their parents haven't married yet.
- Takeru's father is hilarious. He's dotting on his son too much.
- Yuzu has a big brother complex.
Bottom line, will continue to the end since I have borrowed the whole series.
Rambling
- My order from the Singapore publisher came last week: Love for Venus 9 and Zig*Zag 6-9, I've read them but haven't posted my thoughts since I want to reread both series again. But I didn't have time to search for other volumes. Hopefully this week!
- My order from France also came last week! Lots of books to read.
- Here are the loots from Borders: La Corda d'Oro 11-12, SA 12 and 13-16, Seiho Boys 2-3, St Dragon Girl 3 and 6, Butterflies, Flowers 5 (since library doesn't have this volume: I'm thinking it may be scandalous!)
- I went to Borders last Wed and there were lots of manga left. On Thu, a friend of mine went and the manga shelves were empty. There were boxes labeled Manga near by even though the store last day was Sunday. I guess they sent back what wasn't sold. I guess I was lucky to decide to go on Wed instead of later.
- A blogger: Omari's sister is going to Book-off tomorrow and offers to get books if you send her email More info here
- Last but not least, appropriate icon for the series!
