Eeehehe, you liked Kanoko! "...so I started with lots of skepticism"-Kanoko approves of skepticism :D The Natsukusa-blushing scene... it could be he saw Hanai, who was sitting right next to Kanoko. I bought Koi da no Ai da no 1 when it came out and have 2 on order now :D I'm hoping Tokyopop picks it up too!!

On the covers topic, I don't think Tokyopop will apply the new style to older series-for one because the designers would have to work out a whole new design rather than use the existing templates. Also, they probably know most collectors would get mad for changing things mid-series. I like the first version Kanoko cover design too... but on the other hand, you see more of the artwork in the final version. Right now Tokyopop's got a poll up for some of their covers (new vs old style designs). I didn't vote for a specific one, because I thought both styles have advantages, but I left a loooong (^^;;) comment on the poll page.

Oh! I'm interested in what you think of Jun'ai Labyrinth when you get to it :D

I just order 1 & 2 from Kinokuniya, they should be here thursday :)

"Also, they probably know most collectors would get mad for changing things mid-series."
Other publishers had done it ;) Viz and CMX two that I've seen.

I saw the poll and that comment and wondered how you voted. I didn't vote since I didn't actually have a preference :)

re: Jun'ai Labyrinth - I've read the scan or chapter-by-chapter summary somewhere and thought it was interesting. However, given the track records of the 2 series here, I have doubts that the series will be licenced, so I got the 3 volumes since I do like her stories and art. I know some of the spoilers, too. So ... I kind of guess how the series may end, but the story is interesting all the same. Sorry for the long essay :D

Ooh, you should get your books before me! My v2 is part of an order with a CD that comes out March 1, so it won't ship till then. (but because of the extra time, I keep adding other books onto my order, so now I've got a bunch of stuff coming ^^;)

CMX switched to make their books less ugly and more distinctive, so in that case I was glad (but I think some people still were upset that their books didn't all match). I think I've seen complaints about Viz too, though they only changed the little logos on the spine, right?

re: Jun'ai-I see! I probably won't track the series down unless it miraculously does get licensed here. The summary on MU sounds kind of cliché (either that or rather shocking, depending). But I guess most of her stories are kind of standard shoujo setups, and she turns them into a cute story with nice characters anyway :D I'll keep hoping for the return of Zig*Zag...!

well, the summary of Jun'ai on MU is shocking, but there is always that twist ;) If I like the author, I tend to look at their other series, too.
Oh Zig*Zag, I hope it gets back on print on demands, maybe? It's such a cute series.

I do like it a lot despite all the skepticism and I can't wait for #2. I really hope that the series does well so the sequel will be picked up, too. I got #1 and #2 of the sequel to look at pictures :)

Hmm, I found the "You're the star..." line and tried to figure out what it reminded you of... All I could think of were the sections in Tramps Like Us that take a page or so to list some of what's-his-name's corniest/over-the-top lines. Not sure that's what you're thinking of though-if you remember, let me know because I want to know too!

Tsubaki's constantly showing up's gotta be more than coincidence. He always comes for such silly reasons like bringing pictures, a DVD, etc. I bet he found out where her current school was and got his family to plan their vacation there!

July will be a wonderful month of manga :D This and Skip and VBR and more!

Still working on that. Will update as soon as I find out.

I have a question regarding #1, when Kanoko divided people into 2 types A and F. I haven't figured out what those letters mean? Do you know?

I feel that finding out where Kanoko moved to and getting the family to go vacation there take lots of efforts. But then he sat on trains for hours to see her, so that makes sense.

I'm trying to think of other characters who might say cheesy lines like Tsubaki's-maybe the guy in Tsubasa: Those With Wings? (but that had just illustrations in the 1/4 spaces, I think.) One of the Ouran boys?

Oh, the A and F-I think it explained in the book, but she was categorizing people by whether she thought they were fans of one Doraemon creator or the other (see wikipedia); the "Fujiko Fujio" duo used the individual pen names Fujiko F. Fujio and Fujiko Fujio A). I have no idea what the difference between them was (I guess they did create some works independently?), but that's Kanoko...

Yeah, Tsubaki's just a liiiittle obsessed. Tee hee.
