Some points:
- borrowed from interlib link, I was curious after reading a review from mangamusings who's right about Rankan's harem is growing :)
- The story seems to be interesting.
- Chigusa is like Izark in From Far Away whose wounds heal fast and doesn't die!
- Silver peep - ha ha ha - because the editor short hand diamond for a diamond symbol which looks like a bird beak!
- By the end of volume 4, Ranka's harem is growing again.
- The prince seems to be the evil twin!
- Narushige's snake reminds me of Ayame of Fruits Basket, very entertaining.

Bottom line, interesting story, handsome characters, I'll borrow more if/when they are available.

83. 8 volumes of Wild Act (WILD☆ACT).

She and Ryu visit her mother in an attempt to help her through her bout of amnesia. Maiko accepts them, but is still unaware that Yuniko is her daughter. Yuniko then learns of a secret answering machine tape that recorded an intimate conversation between Maiko Sakura and Akira Nanae ... but before they can set out to find it, Maki Natsumi gets hold of it, and makes plans to sell it as proof of Yuniko's secret identity just in time to ruin her and Ryu both unless they can stop him.
Vol 4: Yuniko and Ryu manage to survive their fall and retrieve the real tape containing proof that Yuniko is Akira Nanae's daughter. Upon listening to said tape, they also hear a bit of information that causes some concern for the two lovers. The only way to confirm this theory is to get Yuniko's mother's memory back.
Vol 5: Yuniko's life takes a turn for the worse. Details about Ryu and Yuniko's possible connection to Akira Nanae are leaked one by one. Their lives are turned upside down as they are thrust into the center of a media frenzy. Who are Ryu's parents? Can he really be Yuniko's brother? Maiko's past seems to hold the answers. If she could only remember ... Ryu and Yuniko are determined to discover the truth. Hoping to trigger Maiko's memory, Yuniko plans to steal her parents' personal artifacts to reconstruct their life in LA. With Ryu as her partner in crime, the thieving pair set their sights on stealing back Maiko's dress from ... Maki's mother! Will Maki stop them, or will he expose them?
Vol 6: Things heat up in the triangle of love when Maki challenges Ryuu for Yuniko. The challenge: be the first to steal Akira Nanae's book back from Bob Parker. Ryuu makes the snatch, and has to take aid form Maki to escape Bob. The plot thickens when Ryuu accepts an offer to go to Hollywood and everything goes ballistic when one of these competing males steals a kiss from Yuniko!
Vol 8: Double Ryu! When Yuniko and Ryu head to Hollywood, Yuniko is shocked to discover that Ryu's agent has signed her up at an exclusive acting school. Now Yuniko has a starring role in the heated battle for her affection between the two Ryus!
Vol 9: The battle of the two Ryus wages on! When a not-so-friendly wager for Yuniko's affection is made, the stakes become high as the stage turns into a battleground. The winner of the audition gets the girl ... and the loser will have to give up the chase!
Vol 10: Ryu and Yuniko's life in La-La Land has been an emotional roller coaster, but nothing can prepare them for a shocking revelation that might separate the two lovebirds forever! When they run into Goldie, a powerful movie producer, Ryu and Yuniko learn that Hollywood dreams sometimes turn out to be nightmares.

Some points:
- Borrowed from interlib loan.
- by the mangaka of Punch!, Happy Hustle High.
- I didn't plan to read this series because it seemed to be oop. I got volume 1 from a local used bookstore, and found out that interlib had the whole series.
- Fast read. There are lots of things that don't make sense, but the main characters are likable and lots of bishies!
- Up to volume 5, I thought the twist was Maki was the brother. It turned out that I was right regarding the brother was swapped at baby age, but I was wrong regarding who!
- There are some incests! Also relationship between Yuniko and Ryu are border-line since their blood tie are still questionable and they went ahead anyway. Apparently, their love is too strong!
- Yuniko's obsession with Akira is a bit unhealthy to the point that she was willing to break the law and steal!
- Yuniko is strong and capable of taking care of herself lots of time.
- The smut is there but not as badmuch as Sensual Phrase.
- It's a fun read and I may reread, but I probably don't seek out to buy the whole series.
- I missed #2 and #7 and plan to read them when they are available to fill the whole. I don't think I miss any main plot points, though.

Bottom line, it's hard to recommend this series due to [(eta 11/22/10)] *possible* [/end eta] incest theme. If you like fluff and reading brain/eye candy.

Story and Art by Natsumi Itsuki

From Tokyopop
Vol 1: Inspiration for the hit anime! In 2436 AD, young twins Thor and Rai are living on the space station Space Colony Juno. The twins must fight for their very survival in this bizarre, harsh world, infested with giant carnivorous plants and populated with criminal outcasts from across the galaxy. And they must confront the "Beast King" if they ever want to even hope of leaving the planet!
Vol 2: Tricked into a confrontation against the Ochre Top by Third, Thor faces his life on the line once again. What is the sly Third plotting and how does Thor fit into his plans? Time is running out on Thor and he’ll have to continue to grow stronger if he hopes become the King of the Beast Planet!
Vol 3: As Thor prepares to leave for Hecate, he's dealt a painful blow in the death of a loved one. Raging with revenge, Thor faces Zagi in a battle to the death. And when Thor finally makes it off of the Planet of the Beast King and learns the truth behind the planet and his own existence, will he find the hope to continue?

Some points:
- Borrowed from interlib loan.
- The Twins relationship reminds me of those in Moon Child (one is strong to protect the weak one, all the time resentful...) maybe there is a bit of it in Cipher?
- Sci-fi isn't usually my cup of tea, but this series is by the mangaka of Demon Sacred and it's only 3 volumes and available to borrow, all the right conditions so ... Another reason I had avoided this series was because it's tagged tragedy. You've been warned!
- It's hard to tell who's the enemies and who's the friends.
- I like the characters a lot even though they may have ulterior motives.
- I was hoping against hope that Rai was still alive!
- The twist regarding Odin was really unexpected. After all there was no real bad guys!
- and Third! Tiz...

Bottom line, I'm glad I had a chance to read it. Great series.

    Continuing series: Manga
  • Big Bang Venus (Ultimate Venus) 9 - The End
  • Cynical Orange 9 - The End heavy spoilers since the code for hiding spoilers doesn't work for comments. It only works for posts! Does anyone has a spoiler code that work for comments? Thank you in advance.
