Jennifer Garner

20. 13 going on 30. Quote: "Matt, stop being so nice to me. I don't deserve it. Do you know what kind of person I am now, I mean - do you know who I am right now? I don't have any real friends. I did something bad with a married guy. I don't talk to my mom and dad. I'm not a nice person. And the thing is - I'm not 13 anymore."

I'm done with romantic comedy. Period. I keep ranting about them after watching these below average movies - waste of my time. Maybe I'm the problem. I don't really care for the main character in 13 going on 30. It's like the woman version of Big - but it's a huge disappointment for me. This is the first movie of Jennifer Garner that I watched and I feel that she doesn't act the part very well (mind you, I can't act to save my life, but then I'm not an actor!) She exaggerated her dismal expression when she found out that she was 30 instead of 13 - it's shock combined with ... Of course it's a happy ending, but I felt it's a bit rush, I'd rather have the Big's ending ...
I care more for the cartoon character in Howl's moving castle or Whisper of the heart than this one.
I think maybe I'm too harsh. Don't know. The scary thing is I have another romantic comedy in line Two weeks notice. After that, I'll stop watching this comedy unless they are classics or highly recommended (or the movie time line is more than 6 mos).

The problem is I'm picky. I don't like violent movie because I have nightmare after watching for days and I keep remember these bloody scenes long after watching it. And sometimes it's not the point of the movie. For example: The Good Father, I can't get over the scene where the horse's head in the bed (which I thought at first his legs had been cut off - terrifying, I know!) among other things ... I watched The Lord of the Rings, but I kept remembering the pictures of the orgs instead of concentrating on the beautiful elves' scenes. Yeah, I'm not rush to watch Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill any time soon.
