From Doki Doki website Vol 3: The prime minister’s senior aide is missing! Sai has abandoned his duties due to his feelings for the 25-year-old prime minister, Kanata Okazaki. But Kanata wants to marry high schooler Minori, and Minori doesn’t know how she feels about any of this. A confused love triangle is messing up the politics of Japan! Now a mysterious man with connections to Kanata’s past enters the scene. Can he be trusted or is he scheming to destroy the new prime minister? Vol 4: Sai, who ran away from Kanata and was being sheltered by Matsumoto, has been kidnapped!! And when it’s made public, not even Sai knew how big of a bombshell the truth behind the kidnapping would be!! Now it looks as though Sai and Matsumoto are becoming Kanata’s enemies. And what does this mean for Minoru and Kanata’s burgeoning romance…?! Vol 5: "We demand the bill be retracted from the Senate...or else..." Kanata receives a threatening phone call after he announces a new policy that shocks the entire country. Then-an assassination attempt on Kanata! How far would you go to protect the one you love? What about Kanata and Miki's feelings for each other? The future of the country is in jeopardy! What will happen in the final dramatic volume of Millennium Prime Minister?!
Some points: - I've read the first volume when it came out almost 2 years ago! Always planned to continue but other series got in the way :) - I got the last 3 on sale at Akadot while ordering Nana art book. - Read 3 volumes in 1 sitting. They were very funny. I laughed and laughed. - It's such a light-hearted series. People who carry torches continue to do just that.- I thought it was interesting that/the way Kanata found out that he wasn't cut out to be a politician and quit while he was ahead. Well, not really Midori got kidnapped, his best friend/body guard in critical condition, Sai abandonned him. - Sai is the funniest character in these 3 volumes. - Lots of interruptions. - Sister complex :) - The cover of book 2 has the character smoking without brushing it out. I guess DMP/Doki Doki got away with it because this series is marketed toward adults (16+).
Bottom line, funny series. Reread possibly. Recommended? Check it out from the library first to see if it's your cup of tea.
