Saiunkoku disk 3 (episodes 11-15) badtzphoto December 6 2008, 23:41:31 UTC

- There were some comic relief in episode 11 when Shuurei got sick.
- Shuurei is back to her life before entering the harem - teaching children at the temple and working in the red light district.
- The national exam arc, new characters are introduced - most importantly Eigetsu.
- There were some hardship for Shuurei but everyone was expecting that. But everyone who cared about Shuurei really has hard time witnessing that. Ryuuki looked great in soldier garb.
- Back story why Reishin behaved the way he was
- Episode 15 is a touching story about how Reishin adopted Kouyuu.

- Part 1 of Sa arc.
- Shurei, Eigetsu, Seiran, and Ensei traveling to Sa province meeting hardship along the way.
- Sakujun - ugh. I can't stand that guy, he's screepy. I have a feeling from the anime, that Sakujun is the present Enjun who wasn't a total saint - he did kill other people in order to be the head of Sa clan. And Sakujun did know who Seiran was when he gave him to the bandits 14 years ago, I also suspect that Sakujun had some dealing with them, then. To think that at 15 or 16, he was that scheming and vicious, destroying people's lives.
- Ran Ruyen is just so cool :)
- We see more of Seiran's dark side and his friendship with Ensei, after all they shared a dark secret.
- I wonder how Seiran felt about Shurei. Was she like a sister? or romantic love interest? The only time that he blushed when talking about Shurei was when Ensei suggested that he should marry Shurei in dvd 1 or 2. He certainly did care for her greatly. He didn't see Ryuuki as a threat but he regarded Sakujun as one - I wonder if it was because he hated Sakujun or it was something else. Obviously, I spent too much time thinking about fictional characters.
- I don't think Shurei is in love with anybody as yet.
- The story is getting more and more complex with more characters.

- I only meant to watched 4 episodes or 1 dvd the first night, but I wanted to know more and there were a bit of time, so 2 more episodes packed in instead of just 4. Poor Seiran. He's really worried about Shuurei and *that man* - their heart-to-heart talk scene is nice. He must have an heart-attack when she says that he's her 2nd favorite person. Thank goodness the first person is Shoka. I don't really think Seiran has romantic feelings for Shuurei anymore. Sure he cares and is protective toward her, but he doesn't think he deserves her. Hence, he doesn't really entertain romantic feelings for her. He is really dark, though. He would go through any means to protect her and doesn't mind his hands dirtied to say the least.
- Shuei is teasing Kouyu shamelessly, as is Ensei to Seiran.
- Shunki Sa is so powerful.
- The brothers are so cute. I kept waiting the ax to fall for any of them gets caught or something - such a pessimistic person I am.
- Sho Sai knows too much!
- Maybe I'm a bit biased but I find that Sakujun is getting creepier and creepier. He seems a bit possessive. Ugh! I don't feel sorry for him at all. I'm not sure if Shuurei loved him or she felt the guilt of killing him (without knowing it) that she mourned him.
- The ending is kind of open and it is bitter sweet.
- Ryuren Ran is very cool.
