    1. Anime
    2. Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū ep 13 - The end
      - Crunchyroll
      - ah, the trip to memory land ended.
      - 2nd season is announced via ANN.
    3. Rewatch: Karneval ep 1-13
      - Funimation
      - ah, I still like it, I did skip some of the fighting parts!
      - I really like the ending theme "Reason" by Kamiyu.
    4. Erased ep 1-12 - The end
      - Crunchyroll
      - I marathon'ed this whole series this weekend after reading double_dear's entry about it here. It's very good. Recommended.
      - I wonder about the title, in Japanese it seems to be a sentence starting with I (male) "僕だけがいない街" - google translated to something similar to Kayo's story's title.
      - The manga is nominated for Kodansha award ANN, maybe it will be licensed in the US next year? I remember Vertical's answer to an ask on tumbler recently: The Diagonal
      "fantastico-francesca asked:
What are the current manga trends in America?
      Anime tie-ins…?"
      hmmm.
    1. Chapter Book:
    2. Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates 4: The Buccaneers' Code by Caroline Carlson
      - borrowed from bpl, mp3
      - read by Katherine Kellgren.
      - Hillary and the gang are back.
      - The least likely people to join pirates.
      - It's funny. I'm disappointed in Sir Nicholas. He was redeemed at the end, but ...
    1. Manga:
    2. Karneval 1-4 by Touya Mikanagi
      - borrowed from opl
      - Books 1-3 are covered by the anime.
      - I read the 1st volume in February and didn't like it then, but I requested my local library to buy it, and they did. Meanwhile, I watched the anime and am hooked. I wonder why? Maybe the timing wasn't right - I had too many books to read! or the publishers are on to something regarding a manga's popularity based on anime tie-in?
      - Karegi went to school in book 4 and Karoku recovered, but it's not all happy and rosy for Nai, alas.
      - Karoku's memory of Nai is taken by the fake Karoku!
      - I also like the art better this time around and plan to follow this series!
    3. Yukarism 1-4 - the end by Chika Shiomi
      - I read vol 1 when it came out, but collected the series and binged read now since it's short only 4 volumes.
      - memory of past lives, reincarnations, fates, regrets. Very good short series. Recommended.
      - the author's current series ゆめの守人 (Yume no Moribito) latest volume 4 is out in May, see below :), hopefully, Viz will license it (?)
    4. Master Keaton 6 by Naoki Urasawa, Hokusei Katsushika, Takashi Nagasaki
      - So good!
      - I really like Keaton.
    5. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun 2 by Izumi Tsubaki
      - Thanks lyschan
      - very funny. I laughed and laughed.
      - Things left unsaid or only half-said :)
      - There is a bubble which I don't understand I can't find it now ...
    6. Hibi Chouchou 6 by Morishita Suu - In French
      - first date - so cute.
      - I wonder about Kasumi's brother Ichi who seemed strict and didn't talk much.
      - Karate vs other stuffs.
    7. Telle que tu es 1 by Hirama Kaname - In French
      - lots of words!
      - The french cover is different from the original Japanese one.

      - Reading the first volume, Tagami did say that he's a big fan of round bodies, so that was the main reason he approached her, after that he was really interested in her for who she is.
      - text sfx for "ぷに" (malaxe) is too much, especially there are the translated french next to it. Very crowded.
      - I like the art and the message so I'll continue.
Hakusensha's May releases, no covers yet.
  • Love and War (extra stories) 2 by Kiiro Yumi
