Murder mysteries, sugary sweet story and past lives

• Chapter Book:
  
  1. Ulysses Moore #4: The Isle of Masks by Pierdomenico Baccalario.
     - Borrowed from APL.
     - Read by Michael Page.
     - Venice.
     - Suspense, fun book.
     - I really don't like Oblivia. She's found and united with Peter, apparently, he was still under her thumb.
  2. Lockwood & Co. The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud.
     - Borrowed from APL.
     - Read by Miranda Raison.
     - By the author of Bartimeus series.
     - Very enjoyable read. So much so that I bought the book. The story is about children seeing ghosts and working as agents to remove these ghosts. The first book is also a murder mystery.
     - This is the first of a series (I hope) since the second book will be out in August 2014.
• Manga:
  
  1. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic 1 by Shinobu Ohtaka.
     - Borrowed from OPL.
     - This is the second time I borrowed this book. The first I returned without reading. I had watched the first episode of anime, but I wasn't really interested. This time I was locked out of the house for 1 hour and only had it to read to pass time. I could have taken a walk but decided to read Magi instead.
     - It was great fun. Onto volumes 2 and 3.
  2. Lady Detective 3-6 - The End by Story by Hey-jin Jeon and Art by Ki-ha Lee - in French.
     - I have read Lizzie Newton: Victorian Mysteries 1-2 licensed by Seven Seas and enjoyed it very much, but there's no news of new volumes and it seems that they may not licensed the rest of the series, so I was glad the French released the rest of the series and got them.
     - Read them right away.
     - Fun, interesting, and very enjoyable read. The series is episodic enough at the end of volume 2. Starting volume 3, there's recurring characters and over mysteries to be solved at the end of book 6 with other mysteries solved in each volume.
     - Edwin's emotion was revealed more in later volumes.
     - Mycroft Holmes made his appearance in book 4, I believe.
     - Will reread for sure. I also like the art. There's a reverse harem.
  3. Faster than a kiss 1 by Meca Takana - in French.
     - According to what the author wrote in the note, this series started as a one-shot, then it was asked to become a series. The author also said that it was very sweet and just plain sugar!
     - Fumio's little brother is too cute for words.
     - Deliquent reformed.
     - Teacher-Student relationship.
     - I'm not sure I want to follow this series yet. It seems volume 4 is out of stock in amazon.fr. Maybe I'll get that one next and see what happens there.
  4. Sherlock Bones 2 story by Yuma Ando and art by Yuki Sato.
     - Sherdog's narrow escape from Takeru's mother's wrath thanks to the burglar :) that was a funny chapter.
     - Murder mystery!
  5. Happy Marriage?! 5 by Maki Enjoji.
     - borrowed from ILL.
     - Their relationship progresses, but there's still lack of communications.
     - Looks like Hokuto 's backstory with his father arc is starting.
  6. Gorgeous Carat 1-4 - The End by You Higuri.
     - Borrowed from BPL.
     - Fun fast read. Bishies with sad past/childhood.
     - There's opium and implied rape.
     - I like the relationship between Ray and Florian. Solomon Sugar is funny. Unfortunately, Solomon Sugar's sister's mystery wasn't really solved. From the author, the magazine in which the story ran stopped publishing. I'm glad that she was able to finish/release the story in book form.
     - Not sure what Azura did at the end committed suicide, or continued with his criminal life?
  7. Le prince, la sorciere, et les princesses 4 by Kou Matsuzuki - in French.
     - Summer vacation: going to the beach (Swimming suits for both sides), test of courage.
     - The past of the character on cover is explored.
     - It seems that Ooji had some traumatic past, but I wasn't clear yet. I'm not sure why but having 7 boys who are all interested in her because of their previous lives and not because of who she is is a bit forced, I think.

Anime news: thanks to lyschan's head-up, via ANN, Yona anime!!!!!!!! As per usual, I hope the anime will get licensed via Crunchyroll then the manga will also get licensed :D.
