Kuroko's basketball, Eccentric Family, Bride's story, Betrayal, Sherlock, Bakuman, and Slam Dunk

    1. Anime:
    2. Kuroko's basketball 2 epi 2
      - Crunchyroll.
      - Introducing conflicts and new skills
    3. The Eccentric Family epi 3-13 - The end
      - Crunchyroll.
      - Very good. I marathoned it last night!
      - Back story for all characters with history! Benten, the father's death, the frog brother ...
      - At some points, I suspect that the uncle had something to do with the father's death! What I don't understand is why Benten involved. I have a feeling that she regretted eating him because she cried at the well.
      - All characters grow one way or another. Maybe I'll watch it again to understand more.
    1. Manga: catching up on going on series.
    2. A Bride's story 5 by Kaoru Mori.
      - The twins' wedding.
      - So much fun. They are so childish. It's so touching when they realized what it meant for them from now on. They do seem to recover fast.
      - Trouble ahead.
    3. The Betrayal Knows My Name 6 by Hotaru Odagiri.
      - It feels a bit flimsy because it's only one volume compared to the previous volume.
      - I finished it quickly, no surprise there.
      - The cliffhanger from the last volume about the missing person is resolved here. The mysterious killing continues, though.
      - Look like there are conflicts in the family. The heads don't like each other, surprise, surprise.
      - The main character now is made aware that he's been lied to all this time about his birth and his orphan status!
    4. Sherlock Bones 1 by Yuma Ando and Yuki Sato.
      - Interesting premise.
      - The opening is a bit creepy.
      - Fun, fast read.
    5. Bakuman 20 - The end Story by Tsugumi Ohba and Art by Takeshi Obata.
      - borrowed from BPL
      - I feel that Miho's privacy is invaded. She didn't have to talk in details about her relationship. The price for popularity is too high if it comes to that.
      - all well that ends well.
    6. Slam Dunk 29 by Takehiko Inoue.
      - borrowed from ILL.
      - back in the hole. Personal growth for some characters.
      - Very good series.
      - 2 more volumes to go
    7. Pandora Hearts 16-17 by Jun Mochizuki.
      - borrowed from BPL and OPL.
      - the truth of Leo, Jack, Glen, Oswald, Lacie, even Oz - many shocking revelations packed in these 2 volumes.
      - Jack started to give me a RG Veda vibes, meaning "I don't care what happens and what I must do as long as I can see/meet Lacie again.
    8. Deka Kyoushi (デカ教師) 1 by Tamio Baba.
      - borrowed from ILL.
      - I'm just curious about this title when searching for translator.
      - volume 1 is interesting enough. I found vol2 used from Powells. Ordered it. The good news: the series is only 3 volumes long. The bad news? CMX was shut down before the last volume published. Why am I reading it? Apparently because of my curiosity.

Rambling: Some new licenses.
  • English from NYCC, I only listed the one that I'm interested in: more here and here at Manga Bookshelf. Only one title interests me and one on the fence and both are from Viz:
    • My Love Story (Ore Monogatari) by Kazune Kawahara and Ayuko - YES, very excited about this! I've been wanting to get the tankobon, but resisted everytime I made a purchase at Kino in hope that it would be licensed either in English or French.
    • Black Rose Alice by Setona Mizushiro - on the fence on this one because of bugs and spiders. Maybe I'll borrow first and see.
  • French: from Manga Conseil, Baby-sitters de Hari Tokeino. I tried her series licensed by Tokyopop and didn't like it. Maybe I should give it a second chance.
