Before I begin, hello everybody! I hope your holidays were as good as mine were. I'm glad to see everyone seems to be doing pretty well. Everything is good here. Jon and I are still together, bless his soul. My cats are bad as ever, but such is the nature of cats, so I'm not really complaining. I am currently sick (though I FEEL fine). I have a horrible cough and my voice is shot. Has been for a few days now... ugh. Otherwise, all is well. We're even going to church tomorrow morning and for some reason, I'm really excited about it. Weird. I hate going to church. Oh, well, we'll see what happens.
Oh, I got a tablet for Christmas. I'm getting pretty good at it, but for those of you who are artistically gifted and have used them - any tips?
My Christmas present from Dr. Russell was a visit to
Bleu Salon, a salon and spa next to where I work. The appointment was yesterday morning and I love what they've done.
My hair was colored and styled by Jenna Lewis, who I've just recently found out is a Master Colorist and Master Stylist. It shows. My hair looks fantastic. And she was so nice to me. She even came in to my work today to make sure I loved it.
I pretty much gave her free rein to do whatever she wanted with my head. Since my appointment was booked for two solid months before Christmas, she had a few ideas. None of my natural color is left, but it was replaced by three new colors, so I guess that evens out... I have what she called "honey" and what Jon calls "gold" highlights, dark red lowlights, and an overall color called Chilli Pepper. It looks brown to me, but all the stylists were very excited to see it (I guess it's a new color for them...). They were also very excited about my "virgin hair" and gathered around to ooh and ahh. Apparently Jenna thought I was dyeing it black and was relieved to learn she didn't have to lift color out in order to do what she wanted. She even had to lighten my eyebrows a shade to match my hair. When she cut it, she used this new texturizing technique from New York (I have no idea. I was there for several hours and she did all the talking since I've lost my voice) and I love it.
She even gave me a huge bag full of product to use. Then she had to explain to me how to use it all (except for the shampoo and conditioner, I know how those work). Then she told me to buy a round brush and a flat iron. She recommends the $300 they sell there. *dies from a heart attack* I will be going to Wal-Mart to get a flat iron for $20. Better yet, I may steal my sister's for FREE. :o)
Anyway, Doc is insane because I just tallied everything he paid for and (according to the website) it's close to $400 for just the cut, color, manicure, and pedicure. That's not counting all the product she gave me. I guess quiting is out of the question for a while, huh? Not that I would. I love Dr. Russell. He's a sweetie.
