Some background: The doctor I work for is also my good friend. We were friends before I started working for him and I've stuck around through some tough times at work *because* we're friends.
His dog died today. I don't know what to do.
He's kind of a personal person, but he did ask Jon to tell me. Doc didn't want to tell me himself because he knew he'd lose it. What am I supposed to do? Do I say something before he does? Do I send flowers? If it was me, I'd just want to be left alone and not have any attention brought to it. I think that's what I'm going to wind up doing, just leave it until he says something and then go from there, but is there some kind of pet death etiquette that I'm unaware of?
Thoughts? Ideas?
