Mikey dragged himself into the kitchen, shoulders hunched and head hung low. With a deep sigh he stopped in the middle of the room before looking forlornly over at his mother.
“What, Mikey? What happened?” She asked, instantly worried.
Mikey’s body jerked childishly. “I WAS OUT-BID!” He shrieked, taking a seat at the dining table and burying his face in his hands. “I bet for a pair of Batman socks on E-bay and someone beat me.” He sulked.
She rubbed his back comfortingly and smiled as she saw her eldest son enter the room.
“Hey, Mikes,” Gerard beamed. “I just won fucking Batman socks!”
