this is the worst week EVER and its only tuesday...
is what i said at the E.R. last night.....
yesterday brenden was attacked by a dog. it bit his face. he had two lacerations on his lip. his lower lip had to be sewed back together. altogether took ten sutures. four internal that dissolve and six visible black outer ones. he was calm and brave and quiet the whole time. fell asleep on mama until the procedure had to be done. he wasnt so quiet when they injected his face with four needles of anesthetic. the two doctors, dr david and dr joey said brenden was the calmest kid they had ever seen during a procedure like that[[seriously]](you could tell they werent just saying that, they were shocked as was i about how cool he was about being stitched back together he handled it way better than i was or could have). he only had to be restrained while the injections took place. he didnt thrash about, didnt kick, didnt scream. just whimpered a little and wanted to hold my hands during the procedure. the whole time we waited he only c/o a little pain, once. he was so patient while we waited over 5 hours to be worked on. all together the adventure took 7 hours at the hospital and 1 at the pharmacy. he wanted food and water. that was the only thing he made a fuss about, he was starving. poor baby. and even then he didnt raise as much hell as i have seen him raise!!! he throws bigger fits over staying up later on a school night.
his mouth is swollen still and will be for a few days. his follow up for stitch removal is monday with our ped.
at 1pm yesterday my buddy joshua was taken into custody by his P O. he didnt even see it coming.
i was there with him waiting, and she walks out a few minutes later and says "you chandra?.. i arrested joshua. here are his things. he said he could trust you with them." then she had me leave.
what a day.
what a week.
in happier news, brenden is swollen but chipper.
and we have air conditioning again.
today is brighter. =]
