Chad Lowe just directed an episode that will air later in the season, and he teased, "There is an NHL hockey superstar in the episode." OMG, yay! I've never watched this "hockey" thing of which you speak, but it sounds fascinating. (And something tells me David Boreanaz will be pleased.) And for those of you not in the loop on your Bones spoilers, that hockey star is Luc Robitaille.

I'm hearing that early next year, Brennan and Sweets will be run off the road while investigating the death of a young woman who was in possession of a valuable movie prop. And for those hoping that Booth will be the one administering a little TLC to Brennan post-accident, don't hold your breath. It seems that Booth will be mostly MIA in this hour, and Agent Payton Perotta (Marisa Coughlin) will be the one taking his place as Brennan's partner. This has me thinking that Coughlin's sticking around for more than the one ep we were originally told about...
Episode 4.13 - The Double Trouble in the Panhandle
The team investigates the death of female conjoined twins who were in the process of deciding to get separated or not. The twins were working in a circus, which means that Booth will come face to face with a clown during the investigation. Brennan and Booth go undercover as Wanda and Buck Moosejaw, Canadian performers in a knife-throwing act. Sweets helps Brennan and Booth understand Circus lingo. Angela, Hodgins, Cam and Vincent Nigel-Murray appear.
Episode 4.14 - The Fire in the Ice
The body of a fireman is discovered in a lake and Booth is one of the suspects. The victim and Booth played hockey together. The investigation is conducted by FBI Agent Payton Perotta. During interrogation, sparks fly between Perotta and Booth. Brennan will try figure skating. Cam, Hodgins, Wendell and Sweets also appears.
Episode 4.15 - The Hero in the Hold
Hodgins is not over when he and Brennan got taken hostage a while back. He may even be partially to blame for Booth's kidnapping. Turns out Booth was Tasered, knocked out and stuffed in a toy-like yellow submarine. When he gets out of the tiny submarine, Booth finds himself face to face with someone from his military past. The team works on locating Booth and finding who is behind the kidnapping. We learn why Booth's son is named Parker. Brennan, Hodgins and Thomas Vega, from episode 2.09, face Judge Dix Williams and AUSA Kim Kurland, also from episode 2.09, and learn that evidence in the Grave Digger's case has gone missing. The three of them are suspected of taking the evidence. Hodgins is obsessed by the Grave Digger and Vega is writing a book on the subject. Angela, Sweets, Cam, Agent Perotta and Jared also appear.

"Bones" fans can expect to learn a lot more about their favorite characters in upcoming episodes
You know, it's true and, you know, you have to earn an audience wanting back story. And you're always a little bit nervous that they don't. They really have to be connected to characters to want to know where they came from. And if we're wrong about that, then people will get a little bored. They'll say, hey, just solve the murder, pal, don't do the back story. But we think, we're, we're gambling on that people are interested, especially in, you know, where Booth was forged.
Were the things we'll learn about the characters always part of the plan, or made up as the writers went along?
“We pretty much knew Brennan and Booth’s, you know, the things that formed them. The Squints are another kettle of fish. You kind of see where those characters go and then reverse engineer. You know, we, we find out a bit of where Sweets came from. We have an upcoming story that is very, very centered on Cam, just to see some of what she’s gone through and that, that, that of course did not exist at all when the character first arrived. Angela we kind of knew and Hodgins arose, his back story of being wealthy, arose out of, out of plot. Angela arose out of character and so we’re going to deal with all of those as the season goes on just and hope it stays fresh for people.”
The Angela/Roxie/Hodgins "love triangle" storyline has energized the set
“The actors are having some fun with it. Michaela was so excited to just go there and do that stuff, and it, it just brings another element to her and Hodgins. It works for us. There needs to be sources of a conflict in the lab, you know, where these, these very good actors are, are working to keep people interested. We need to give them the tools that they need to keep that stuff going, and, you know, Michaela has really - she’s really spread her wings. She’s really been a lot of fun to watch. In fact, she’s been so much fun to watch that it has had an effect on the storyline; that we think well, wait a minute; maybe we should go here now or instead of slamming back into what we first had in mind.”
In one of the November episodes, we meet Booth's brother -- and Brennan dates him
“It’s one of those things when you see them on screen and see them interacting with each other it changes and you go in a different direction because of what chemistry there is between actors that you just or I can’t - I’m sure there are more clever producers who can see that coming, but when you watch dailies of them it was like oh, we’re not going to do this, we’re going to do this but, you know, he’s really good and she has a whole different thing with him than what she has with Booth and actually, him and Booth had a whole different thing. Originally, the idea was that Jared would be weaker, a more of a little brother than he is and but it turns out that Jared can stand there toe to toe with Booth and it just gives us a better story. sptv050769”
We find out some intriguing secrets about Booth in these episodes
“That's where we want to go with Booth. We want to find out some of that stuff and that gives us stuff, you know, Booth is a private, private man who never complains about anything. So for him to start letting these things be known to Brennan, you know, that's the definition of romance. That is going to work for us. So that's, so that's, you know, thanks to that character and that actor, Brendan playing Jared, we get to move their relationship along and that's all you can ask for as you're going into Season four. It's very exciting for us.”
The episode airing Wednesday 11/19, "The Passenger in the Oven" (an episode you shouldn't watch while eating)
“That is one of our more hideous bodies. That turned out to be a very good episode. What happens in an episode like that is that if the scope of the episode is less, if you have to put them on a plane, you have to give actors a ton of stuff to keep the audience interested. They can’t just be sitting there, and that episode kind of shows off one of David’s real attributes is, is his energy and his physicality. He’s running around on that airplane trying to solve that crime and it’s funny, and it turned out quite well. Little homage to the drawing room mysteries of, from England, our version, on an airplane going to China.”
We'll see more of both Roxie (Angela's girlfriend) and Jared (Booth's brother) throughout the rest of the season
There are more storylines to come from both of them, yes. Stuff happens. Stuff happens and they figure very importantly in what happens. You know, we’ve got a gravedigger. We’ve got our, you know, our serial kidnapper. That’s our first one back in January, and Jared figures very, very importantly in that episode.
Eliza in Boise, Idaho: Anything on Bones?
Hockey legend Luc Robataille guests in an upcoming episode, and Seeley Booth even gets on the ice with him (which has to be thrilling for David Boreanaz). Also, the bad news about the upcoming storyline with Booth's brother is that Jared and Brennan make out, the good news is that...uh, Booth and Bones will probably get together eventually? (I'm trying here!)

Indeed! The show returns with new episodes in November and, as executive producer Hart Hanson previously promised, we will finally learn the identity of The Grave Digger. That's right, the wait will soon be over. And, btw, it ain't the person many of us originally heard it to be. Let's just say, that guy is a goner, and after his disappearance, TGD goes after Booth! I'm told S.B. gets kidnapped and Brennan will team up with his brother Jared (Brendan Fehr) to save him.
