the weather outside really is frightful

About a month ago I bought a pair of calf-height, shiny (fake) patent zip up boots made by Earth and felt guilty about spending the money on them. Today in the slush and rain and snow, I am ever so glad that I have warm, comfy and above all waterproof boots to wear!

Last night's show was ridiculous. I think we're finally starting to see why the judges/choreographers all thought this season's contestants blew other seasons out of the water.

I fall in love with Jakob more each week. I am really glad we don't have to watch him and Billy Bell compete. It would have been a great competition but brutal.

And Mollee! She really is growing up and peaking at the perfect time. Reminds me of Jeanine last season. Those pieces they did last night were so beautiful. The waltz was like a dream. Their synchronization with their kicks, jumps, and rise and fall was absolutely perfect. How did they do that!!??!?

I keep expected Legacy to show his inexperience but I think the choreographers are fitting the dancing around his style really well. Eleanore is ridiculous. And, I love how much fun she is.

I wouldn't be upset if we lost Ryan or Ashleigh, although that was so sweet of him to do (and might garner him a few more votes than he would have gotten otherwise). I don't know what would have been a better solution to Ashleigh's injury. And she has grown and put a lot of work into the season, but so had the rest of them. I guess we'll see what happens.

Russell - He is one of the best stage personalities I've seen on the show, on top of being an incredible dancer. Every time I watch him on stage I sit here in disbelief saying, "I can't believe he's a krumper with no training....".

Ideally, I'd love to see Jakob, Mollee, Eleanore, Kathryn (because I think she's peaking, too), and Russell next week. The others I wouldn't be sad to see go.

Also, I keep thinking it's Thursday.

He's definitely not a krumper with no other training--that's just a popular myth the show likes to spin about all the hip hop and also usually the salsa dancers, that they are all self-made street dancers with no formal training. It might be true for some, but not Russell. Doesn't matter to me, though, I respect his accomplishments, and his stage presence is just amazing, however he came by it.

I thought that was pretty clear, and they were just assigning him the "just a crumper" label to add to his story and appeal. Personally, I think it adds even more to the appeal to show ~ "Hey street dancers, really it's o.k. to also get into various other forms of classical dance ~ you can do so without losing any of your cool factor!".

Ahh. I don't do much research on these guys so I didn't know. Still, though, he's pretty awesome.

Oh, also agreed about being relieved Jakob and Billy Bell aren't competing against each other. Jakob's solo last night really reminded me of Billy Bell.
