lawd how is it that even without the kids at home it's been a semi-busy week?
man oh man am i ready for the weekend. we have declared an offical weekend of REST and being useless to the general population at large for teh next two day. ( Though we do have to go to a catering thing for an hour or so Saturday afternoon - hopefully that is no work on our part other than showing up , eating, and making some decisions)
I plan on making wedding decorations and cupcake stands and maybe start of the penants. Ideally this will happen while watching some wonderful film that my husband will pick out to bring me into the 21st century ( lol ) - though I suspect i will be subjigated to watching Master and Commander again or worse, Das Boot. ( maybe i shouldnt shit talk Das Boot , after all , I haven't seen it yet - maybe it's not so bad )
the house is clean , my laundry is done, there is some minimal watering to be done in the yard - but that's a pleasure , not a chore. I'm hoping to see the owl in our backyard again this weekend. Saw him ( or her? ) for the first time last night - teeny little screech owl - cute as a button. I'm all kinds of excited that maybe it will live in our yard , or atleast in the neighborhood so I get a chance to see it more often and hear it's calls.
i've been making back up cd's of the shots i've taken thus far this year. it's taking a lot longer than i imagined, but i'm making copies of the originals as well as the edited versions. This is in preparation for having to give this work laptop back once the FEED office closes down ...which may be in the next month?
I should be dusting off my resume and updating it this next week.
I managed to take some shots that i really like of my grandmother and Rowynn last weekend. She brought me a copy of a shot taken at Christmas 1942 of her and her family ...all 13 living kids ( the twins died close to birth ) and her mom and dad. It's such a priceless photograph to me. I'm excited to frame it and put it up in our home. At this point in their lives their mother was mostly blind and would spend the last 10 years of her life bedridden and unable to see, hear or speak due to a brain tumor. The older kids raised the younger kids. She was 16 or 17 at the time that started happening I think.

Four of the boys & two of the girls would soon be in the military. My grandmother , Betty, was in the Navy for 4 years during "The Big War" as she calls it.
