ah...technology...the smell of it as I open the hermetically sealed tamper resistant packaging using a pair of scissors, swiss army knife, and a blow torch (hope I didn't damage the SD card).
I had to buy a new cell phone today. The other dead soldier fell in battle yesterday at a convenience store just South of Mt.Vernon. I loved that phone...simple but strong...it survived difficult conversations, an endless barrage of charges, hell...even my oven. I can hear the bagpipes in the distance even now as I type. Perhaps I will have a memorial service and bury it somewhere.
Of course, how long can one grieving widow take? I mean honestly, 2 years of technology have blown by between that phone and this. My new phone can do things my old phone never even imagined. Technicie things....yes...technicie things I don't even understand...and will probably never use...but of course that is not the point.
My lover leaves for New Jersey tomorrow morning. Damn-it...I can't sleep when she's gone. Commute time is typically boring and usually jangly (she has the ability to calm me somehow). Doesn't her company realize what they are doing to me? I think not! Bastards. I do have to admit I look forward to the one on one time with my boy though. He's just pure magic these days.
I must also begin drafting my 'State of the Association' address for the next Homeowner's Association meeting on Monday. It should be fairly simple. Ladies and Gentlemen...we are out of money. Thank you. That is all. I imagine public office to be very similar as to what I have endured this past year. As such I am inclined to never get involved in politics. Yuck.
