Oh, English, how I adore you, and yet, how frustrated I am by you! Sometimes you make communication so difficult. For example: Love.
One word, to express the infinite variations it can imply! And, sure, we're got other words to take onto it, (romantic, platonic, familial, companionate, sexual), but what do those even mean?
Romantic can be the grand romantic gestures type romance, or it can simply imply dating. Does platonic mean not romantic, or not sexual? Or both? Why don't we have words that differentiate these things?
And personally, I've had experiences that were both sexual and non-sexual. How do I express that? I've heard 'sensual but not sexual', but that's not quite it. I'm talking experiences that were heavily sexual, but which neither party expected or wanted to result in sex.
I need more words for these things. So many more words!
