Not just finished, but photographed, too.
Pattern by Birds of a Feather. Weeks Dye Works on 32 ct linen.
I'm not sure why the scanner does horrible things to evenweave, but the variegation in the fabric isn't nearly that pronounced.
This is a companion piece to "
Too Many Treats", which I did last year.
I should dedicate this piece to Doctor Who, since it took all of series 1 and 2 and most of series 3 of New Who to complete it. There are only a few changes - I added some extra spiders instead of my initials and made the cat's eyes green. I did, however, work this on a wooden embroidery hoop rather than my usual metal tension hoop. I'm glad I did, as there's significantly less warp in the fabric, and therefore less blocking to do before I frame it.
I've currently got two works in the hopper: Going in Style, the big needlepoint of Daikoku riding a rat, and a small Hardanger piece featuring Greek Crosses. I very nearly almost bought a bunch more punch paper santas the other day, though. I got as far as entering my credit card number before I managed to close the window. I must thin the stash before I can buy any new stuff! Unless, that is, I get to go to Ginger's or Stitcher's Paradise, in which case all bets are off.
