Once again, sorry for the delay. I hate it when paying gigs get in the way of taking a dump on the musical taste of Her Satanic Majesty's Subjects ( Read more... )

I kind of liked the Ray of Light album. "Frozen" and "The Power of Goodbye" were good songs. "Frozen" was even better covered by Talisman because they included a bass line and a singer who could sing. "Live To Tell" is still the best Madonna song, and I'm not ashamed to say that.

You realize that this post was trashing Paul and not Ms Cicconne?

Yeah. I find Paul McCartney so unremarkable that I have no real opinion on him, so I chose to instead add a little to Madonna's defense. And apparently ridicule Phil Collins.

I found it remarkable that he managed to depart from the Beatles and release absolute crap for the next thirty-five years, but you've already covered that.

How do you feel about Axl's cover of "Live And Let Die," which was practically the same thing, only more aggressive? Quite frankly, it sort of threw me for a loop, like, "What is this doing on a Guns N Roses album?"

I thought the point of Axl's "Live and Let Die" was to show how good the song could be if done by people who actually understood rock and roll.

Notice, I don't say that Paul can't write songs, I just say that he has no taste and should not perform them himself.

I think we can all agree that Axl's version of Live and Let Dit sounda shitload better than the original.

I feel guilty for liking the "Live and Let Die" because it's a Paul McCartney song. In fact, there'd be something seriously wrong with the universe if someone could feel more shame in masturbating to bestiality porn than liking a Paul McCartney song. I even feel guilty for liking the original because it reminds me of the Guns N Roses version.

Don't you think that Axl does a better job of it than Paul does?

I don't even think of the Guns N Roses version as a cover. I think of Paul's as a cover of theirs.

Sir Paul is worth more than the Queen of England and the entire Bush and Saudi families combined.

Which to me mean he's a reasonable target when he claims t hat it would be a hardship to give his ex more than 10 million.

He was anticipating the day when an expatriate living in France would write a blog entry making his fanbase realize what a talentless tool he is, and he knew that the 10 million would, in fact, be a hardship after his album sales suddenly began plummeting.
