'm usually of the opinion that resolutions are a waste of time as I never seem to fulfill them. I was convinced that this year I still wouldn't bother making any, but then I laid in bed last night, the first sleep of 2008, and couldn't help but think of some things I need to work on. Damn cultural conditioning.
So I ask you all to help me since I suck. Here's the list that wouldn't let me just sleep.
- Be Better about my Health
- This isn't necessarily all about losing weight, although that would be awesome. Most importantly, it's a memory thing. I need to remember to take my blood sugar readings more often. I need to remember to take my medication EVERY time (I have meds in the AM & PM so sometimes I forget ones). I need to really pay attention to what I'm eating and get this diabetes under control. I need to not be lazy about going in to get my bloodwork done every three months like I'm supposed to (in fact I have a thing sitting here that I have to do ASAP).
- Be better about my Car
- Oil changes every three months or 3000 miles. Check the fluids. Keep it clean (both outside & in). I'm paying enough for the fucking thing, I better take good ass care of it.
- Be more Domestic
- Really I think I said this last year, although I can't be bothered to look at last year's blogs to see if I said it. I need to take better care of my house in terms of keeping the laundry done, the dishes clean, everything straightened up. I need to take better care of my cat's litter box (I may finally invest in one of those self cleaning jobs to assist in this).
- I also want to cook at home more. We spend WAY too much money at Taco Bell and that can't be good. So I want to get into a habit of coming home, resting for like half an hour, and then making dinner. I think that now that my duties at work are changing slightly there may not be as many long days so I can have more of a nightly routine. Here's to hoping (and starting tonight I think).
I'm pretty sure these are the main ones. If I think of more, I'll update. Otherwise... bah.
