You love and care for all your children equally, but there is always going to be ones you connect with more than others. That's just human nature.

Mother feels a bit guilty for her favouritism, but Dee is the closest she has to a child of her own. She didn't give birth to him, but she's still the only mother he's ever known, unlike mos of the other kids who do or did have parents they remember.
