This was lovely. I really like the openness in their relationship and the way that mother believes in her faith, but does not let that blind her to the issues with the church.

That's the kind of woman she seems to be in the manga. She is a true believer, but her faith is tempered by a lot of common sense and the knowledge that few things stay the same and change is necessary as time passes.

Dee trusts Mother completely, I imagine all her kids do, because she's such an open and loving woman, although very strict.
