It doesn't sound very sanitary.

That doesn't seem to bother the Doctor though. I guess he's immune to most things. Not something I'd want to try though, I'm very particular about what I choose to lick ;)

Thank you!

He wouldn't have gotten as much "lip action" from the ladies if they had known where his mouth had been.

ROFLMAO! You've got that right! I hope he cleans his teeth O.O

I hope he uses mouthwash and some floss regularly.

The repetitive kissing thing made me roll my eyes even if I do think DT is cute. Although don't rub it in by having all these actresses kiss him except me!

I know the Eleventh Doctor got kissed a lot too but at least he tried to get away, most of the time.

Eleven tried licking once or twice, but it didn't seem to work as well for him. As for the kissing, it almost seemed as if he didn't quite know what to do, so he tried to get away.

I think the licking thing faded away. Didn't Twelve lick his finger to test the air like Eleven? . I know he licked a big silver spoon. Which is more normal compared to Ten.

Licking was really Tens thing. Although DT gave ice-cream a good licking when he did "Blackpool". He does the eye rubbing thing in other TV roles too.

Eleven reminded me of that cat Penelope who tries to run away from that skunk, Pepe Le Pew.

Maybe Ten's incarnation was just more sensitive to detection by tongue than the others. He did lick just about everything! And yes, DT used that in a lot of his roles; I remember the ice cream in Blackpool, but they didn't allow Hardy to eat the ice cream.... maybe because of his heart condition? Or maybe because DT's licking is such a distraction away from the plot!

Lots of people lick their finger and stick it in the air to tell which way the wind is blowing, and licking spoons is pretty normal compared to walls!

Right... poor Penelope, pursued by a skunk!

I think all the regenerations have their own quirks and habits that set them apart. Ten was definitely the licker. Maybe he grew out of that phase when he became Eleven.

Poor Eleven. Licking Clara's leaf and getting nothing.

It was nice to see Twelve not grumpy at one point in series 8.

I was just making an observation. Or maybe I just like talking about the evolution of the Doctors licking habits?.:)

I heard DT really wanted to lick that ice-cream as Alec. He didn't have that privileged as Peter.

Really. No DT fangirl could ever forget that Blackpool scene. *melts*

No, we can't.... so many wanted to be the ice cream cone, apparently! "Melts" is the right term!

As for Hardy and the ice cream cone.... he was supposed to have a heart condition, so no ice cream, no fish and chips (fried foods), etc. Word among fangirls has it that DT wasn't allowed to be seen eating anything so it wouldn't distract us from the actual plot. They always cut away from him just when he was about to eat.... there were actual bets as to whether or not Alec would actually make it over to Ellie's house for dinner!

Insert double meaning here.:)

Alec had health problems so he obviously had a diet. I can relate. That was probably part of why he was so gloomy.

Luckily Alec did come for dinner.

I bet DT couldn't wait for them to yell cut so that he could actually lick it. Or did it melt by then?

I'm always distracted by DT's mouth.

Eleven's sense of taste changed a lot, his reactions to food soon after regeneration made that clear. I don't think he gets as much out of licking now. He' probably secretly relieved about that, lol!

Ten was very kissy as well as licking a lot of things. Eleven is awkward when it comes to kissing, he flails a lot, which is adorable! I'd rather kiss Eleven than Ten =D

Ooops, Eleven heard and he's trying to get away ;)

DT: It has gotta look good in the trailer.

[The kissing of champions]

I was conflicted. It put me off seeing Ten so overwhelmed by ladies kissing him. I think Eleven probably learn to be more assertive.

When I complain about this usually people say that the Doctor is a young handsome looking man. Of course he is going to be hit on. But to this degree? It seem like sexual harassment to me.

Moffat only stop with Twelve because Peter Capaldi didn't want to do the kissing thing. I bet people would have protested that he isn't "hot" if he did.*sarcasm*

I'm getting way too worked up over something trivial.

It's the times. TV producers all seem to think there needs to be kissing, but there doesn't. Doctor Who certainly doesn't need it, I find it disconcerting, because if a man kissed a woman they way these women throw themselves at the Doctor, there'd be cries of sexual harassment. And the Doctor may be good looking these days, but he's NOT young, he should be able to fend women off. I guess he's a bit clueless.

It's different when it's Eleven and River, even before they're married, because there is a proper relationship there. And I was fine with Jack kissing Nine that one time, because that's Jack and it was a kind of goodbye.
