Ooh, well said! I agree, the TARDIS is the one constant in his long, often sad, existence. She's always there for him...

There would be no Doctor Who without the TARDIS. She is what makes him who and what he is, an intergalactic time traveller. In a way, she's the most important character on the show.

Thank you.

She's definitely a character, LOL!

Yes, I agree, she's totally the most important character in the show. Without her, there's no story (while there are vortex manipulators, they are not nearly as lovely as the TARDIS). She and the Doctor are partners, though. I truly believe that when the Doctor finally dies (as he really isn't immortal), the TARDIS will, too. They are linked mentally, sort of symbiotically. Neither would function to their potential without the other.

The closest human to that sort of relationship, where they were partners and each was good for the other, where they were better together, was Donna Noble.

I agree on all counts, the TARDIS would pine away and die without the Doctor.

Donna would have made an awesome Time Lady, I could see her with a TARDIS of her own.

Oh, Donna Noble, Time Lady, would have been brilliant! That scene in "End of Time" where she starts to remember and then bursts into a glow, I would have loved to see her regenerate instead of just dropping off to sleep!

Regeneration would certainly solve the whole 'dying from her memories' problem! Then there could be TWO Time Lords out there. Works for me!

Indeed, one male and one female. Hmmm...the possibilities are intriguing.

They could re-start the entire Time Lord race... Or Donna could go out, have babies with someone else and maybe she's the ancestor of ALL Time Lords...

(Or maybe it's Jack's children who evolve into the Time Lords...)

I suppose each of them could go out and spawn separately... that would increase the genetic pool and result in healthier descendants (less inbreeding).... They also live a long time (if they aren't reckless, like one Time Lord we know), so they could probably spawn sequentially.

See, we've already got them sorted!

Interesting thought about Jack's children, too!

I believe Jack serves an important purpose, he's not 'wrong', he's meant to exist. it would really tickle me if the Time Lords couldn't have existed if he hadn't become immortal.

If every incarnation of the Doctor and Donna, both together and separate, produced children, there'd be no shortage of Time Lords! Fanfic writers can fix anything!

I think even the Doctor was beginning to realize that about Jack....

It could be lots of fun for them! The Doctor constantly whines about how he's the last of his kind, yet doesn't seem too anxious to change that situation. It hit especially hard in "Midnight," where, if they had succeeded in throwing him out of the bus, that would have been it. Even then, he didn't think that maybe he should start planning for the future. He could be the first instead of the last! Maybe Time Lady Donna could (gently) slap some sense into him...

We got way off topic here, but maybe the TARDIS could spawn, too. Donna gets her own, and their progeny will also have. Ooh, a whole new line of them, too! Such fun...

The Doctor really does seem reluctant to propagate the species. I think he's just shy ;)

I'm sure in Donna's hands he would soon see the light.

I love the idea of the TARDIS spawning little TARDISES, the new Time Lords would certainly need them if they were going to get out in the universe and do some Time Lording! The New Dawn of the Time Lords!
