He also has confidence in Ryo's ability to be oblivious. Rose can put as much effort into flirting with Ryo as he likes, Ryo just won't notice.

Dee just doesn't like anyone else flirting with Ryo. *g* Especially since he has not been all that sucessful in that regard himself. Yet. He's working on it, though! Provided his arch-nemesis Bikky doesn't interfere...
Naturally, he'd recognize another 'alpha-male' way before Ryo ever even got an idea of him being flirted with. (Although IMHO, Rose is even more alpha than Dee!? ô__O?)

I think you're right about Rose, plus he's in a position of power over both Ryo and Dee which is never going to sit comfortably with Dee. Rose can confidently expect to be obeyed, and in a work context Ryo is happy to comply. The times when Rose starts trying to use his authority to make progress with Ryo is where he comes unstuck. Ryo does not like being manipulated (when he notices that it's happening that is, sometimes it goes right over his head), and I think Rose makes him a lot more uncomfortable than Dee does. Where Dee backs off when Ryo stops fighting, I think Rose would take full advantage and Ryo would most certainly regret it afterwards. Dee seems to know instinctively just how far he can take things, he's got a weird sort of morality when it comes to molesting Ryo, lol!

Thank you! Sometimes it's necessary to look at both sides to get the full picture. I like delving into the minds of the different characters. There will be more looks at different viewpoints to various scenes during these sequences, there's so much to look at. Even so, I'm having to skip over some details so as to not get too bogged down.
