Seems like everything is fair game for stealing, but I never thought it would go this far! Is there no other way to block them besides changing tags because this is ridiculous. Now I understand why so many people have been 'locking' their journals and I can't blame them but it really cuts off some very good writers out there to be discovered...

As this person's site isn't actually on livejournal, it seems changing tags is the best way to prevent posts being taken short of friendslocking either the entire journal or all non-fic posts. You can also go to the site and click the complain button, then tell them you don't want any of your posts copied. What this person is doing is, in many cases, illegal and now people know about it, they're demanding their posts be removed. One wonderful person is going through everything that's been taken and posted there, informing people and the effect has been dramatic. Over 70 people have so far demanded that their posts be removed. If it keeps up, the journal will soon be practically empty and they'll no longer be able to profit from it.

At last count, I think it was over 150, yet they are still taking posts from people's journals. And now, they say if you don't want posts re-posted, we should add the tag donotrepost to our entries! It's not up to us to label our entries to stop this person, it's up to this person to request permission before re-posting, and to accept our decision. I wish there were a way to block this person's website from accessing LJ while still allowing people on LJ to check the entries on the website so they can still demand to have things taken down.

Damn, that's a lot! Popular is one thing; stealing is another. There are so many writers I haven't read and I usually will read AO3 or FF.net; these suckers are going to stop people from either posting or close journals, all because of his stealing. DId the jackass think what would happen if journals were closed to the thieves?! I do agree it's not for the writers not to add that label; you shouldn't have to, but maybe you could see what happens when you do that in your next postings? There's too many great writers out there who would not accept friend requests just to stop this.

They're not taking from me anymore because I demanded that they never do so again, as everyone else, but there are still people being informed by others of what';s being done behind their backs, so the demands to remove their work will continue to pour in. What amazes me is that this idiot is still continuing and despite everything they've been told, still refuses to accept that they're doing anything wrong or that they need to ASK PERMISSION if they want to re-post something. It really is unbelievable that whoever it is STILL doesn't get that their actions are completely unacceptable.

I"m glad they SEEMED to have stopped taking but beware that it's only just till things die down. I would hope they don't do it again, but remember, a thief has no conscious and couldn't care less what you want. I do hope they will stop; you're a terrific writer but I don't hold much hope they'll ask permission from anyone.

I'm on the list of people who have denied permission, but I'll keep an eye, just to be safe. They're still taking from others, and will until those others say no. Several people have threatened to sue over the re-posting of non-fic posts without permission. You'd think they would have got the message by now, but no.
