Dee floated on his back, the warm water lapping deliciously against his body as he stared upwards at the cloudless blue sky from half-closed eyes. This was bliss. He could feel the hot sun beating down against his tanned body as he idly moved his arms and legs to keep himself afloat, relishing the peace and tranquillity, feeling all his worries and cares melt away as if they’d never existed. He let his eyes close completely, listening to the far-off calls of seabirds.
A small wave splashed him, and he cracked one eye open, vaguely annoyed. “What was that for?”
“Just making sure you haven’t fallen asleep. What’re you doing anyway?”
“What does it look like I’m doin’? I’m floatin’ on the warm tropical ocean, soakin’ up the sun. It’s perfect.”
Ryo chuckled. “Well, don’t stay in there too long or you’ll go all pruney. Besides, dinner will be ready in about fifteen minutes, and you’ll probably want to dry off and put some clothes on before we eat.” Getting to his feet, he left the bathroom.
Dee scowled at his lover’s retreating back. So much for his blissful tropical island daydream. Should’ve locked the door before taking a bath.
