“Come on!” Reaching down with one hand, River caught hold of the Doctor’s arm and helped him clamber further up the cliff, just out of reach of the floods. “We have to get higher!” she shouted over the howling wind and lashing rain.
“You go ahead!” the Doctor shouted back, wrapping one arm around a spur of rock. “Save yourself!”
“No! I’m not leaving you!”
“Are all wives as bossy as you?”
“I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had a wife. Now get up here, because if you get yourself drowned, I’m going to kill you!”
The Doctor sighed. “Yes, dear.”
