Standing in his kitchen, Ianto frowned at the mountain of dirty dishes in and around the sink, wondering why he’d agreed to Jack’s idea.
“We should throw a housewarming party!” Jack had said a week ago.
“Why?”
“Because I just moved in.”
“You did, but I’ve been living here for almost two years,” Ianto had pointed out.
“And you never threw a party when you moved in.”
“If I had, nobody would’ve shown up anyway.” He’d moved from the small flat he’d been renting barely two months after the whole Cyberwoman debacle, feeling the need to make a fresh start somewhere that didn’t constantly remind him of what he’d lost.
“I’d have come, but that’s beside the point. I’m sure everyone would love to see our home, if we invited them.”
So Ianto had caved, they’d organised the party, the whole team had come, plus Rhys, even Martha and Tom had driven up from London. Ianto had to admit the party had been fun, but now he was faced with the clean-up.
“Don’t look so gloomy!” Jack said cheerfully. “You wash, I’ll dry. With can switch halfway through if you want, and tomorrow we can look into getting a dishwasher.”
