A/N: Double drabble.
Dee was all for equality. He had absolutely nothing against female cops, or even female detectives; in fact, he liked them. Some of them may not be as physically strong as their male counterparts, but they made up for that with smarts, intuition, and determination.
He’d take a female detective over the old-school prejudiced, misogynistic, homophobic kind any day of the week, and he’d been pleased to hear that the two-seven’s new detective was a woman; that was just the breath of fresh air the squad could use. She’d be working alongside Mike Sanchez, who was a solid detective himself, so as long as she was willing to learn from him, she’d do just fine.
Then Detective Lucy Donovan arrived for her first day, and as Mike introduced her to Dee, she caught sight of Ryo, wandering in with his nose buried in a file.
“So, who’s the cutie over there? I could seriously fancy him. Does anyone know if he’s available?”
Dee couldn’t help himself; he growled. “Hands off, missy! That’s my partner you’re talkin’ about!”
Sanchez laughed. “Better steer well clear of Ryo, Lucy. Dee gets kinda territorial.”
“He’s not available, he’s mine, and don’t you forget it!”
