Summary: There are various methods Cardiff’s alien residents can use to disguise their appearance.

A/N: Double drabble.
The population of Cardiff would probably be shocked if they knew how many aliens called the city home. All told, there were over eight hundred, some of whom had fallen through the Rift, and others who had arrived by spaceship and either become stranded or requested asylum. Then there were the children who had been born on earth, some of whom had one parent who was human, and one who was from another planet. There were also a number of alien scientists involved in various kinds of research and who had been granted Torchwood’s permission to carry out their studies.
Some of Cardiff’s resident aliens looked enough like humans that nobody coming face-to-face with them would have any reason to suspect they’d been born, or hatched, on another planet. Others were shapeshifters, able to fit in by changing their own appearance. The rest had to rely on cloaking technology provided by Torchwood, or other forms of disguise.
“Cloaking technology would hide your tail from view,” Ianto told the latest new arrival. “But it would still be there.”
“I’m not having it removed!” the woman snapped.
“Nor would I suggest such an extreme measure. However, wearing long skirts should conceal it.”
