Double Drabble: Out Of Order

Summary: The Doctor’s TARDIS can no longer change its form the way Ianto and Jack’s can.

A/N: Double drabble. Set in my Through Time and Space ‘Verse.
Sometimes, Ianto felt a little sorry for the Doctor, or more accurately, for his TARDIS. With its chameleon circuit damaged, it was stuck in the form of a blue police call box from the previous century and didn’t really fit in anywhere, unless the Doctor happened to be visiting Britain in the nineteen-fifties.
It had a perception filter, of course, so most people failed to notice its presence, even as they automatically detoured around it, but still, it lacked the flexibility it had once had.
Ianto’s own TARDIS, which was not only a newer model but also fully operational, could take any form she chose, so wherever they went, she never looked out of place. She could disguise herself as anything from a door in a wall to a mountain, although on most occasions she preferred to take the form of a tree. She liked to feel the wind among her leaves and branches.
So here she stood, a massive oak tree providing shelter from the rain. The Doctor’s TARDIS stood beside her trunk.
“Are you ever going to fix her?” Jack asked his old friend.
“Why bother? She’s fine as she is.”
Ianto smirked. “Can’t get the replacement parts?”
