“How did you not see it?” Ianto demanded, exasperated with his lover. “It’s right there, plain as the nose on your face!”
“What?” Jack’s hands gravitated towards his nose as if to shield it, a look of indignation on his face. “How can you say that? There’s nothing plain about my nose! It’s classical, sleek, graceful, distinguished… I wasn’t called The Face of Boe for nothing!”
Groaning, Ianto rolled his eyes. It was typical of Jack to hear his words and completely misunderstand him.
“I wasn’t insulting your nose, Jack, it’s a figure of speech! I was just pointing out that… thing is obvious, and very noticeable, the way noses in general are.”
“So you don’t hate my nose?” Jack slowly lowered his hands.
“No, of course I don’t. It’s a very handsome nose, and it fits perfectly with the rest of your face.”
“Okay, that’s alright then. For the record, I like your nose too. It’s a very nice shape.”
“Well, I’m glad we got that settled. Now, if you can just explain to me how you managed to overlook this bloody great… whatever it is…” Ianto pointed at the monstrosity.
Jack followed his finger, squinting. “Huh. Perception filter.”
