Double Drabble: Squeak

Summary: With Jack gone and the Rift acting up, the rest of the team are giddy with exhaustion.

A/N: Double drabble.
Everyone was overtired what with Jack having abandoned them and the remaining team members struggling to cope without their leader. It was curious, Ianto mused, how exhaustion could make things seem so much funnier than they’d otherwise be. It was a bit like being tipsy.
He was delivering another round of coffee to his teammates, hoping to keep them all awake and functioning until the Rift saw fit to settle down again, when Tosh started giggling. Everyone stared at her.
“Sorry,” she managed. “Sorry, my mouse keeps squeaking!”
“A mouse?” Owen started looking around. “Where?”
“No!” Tosh picked up her wireless computer mouse. “This one!”
“Oh. Right. Must be why it’s called a mouse. Always wondered about that.”
“No,” Ianto corrected. “It’s ‘cause they used to be small and grey with a long tail.” He grinned. “Yours must be a Manx mouse. No tail.”
That set Tosh off again, and even Owen chuckled.
“Good one.”
“It’s still squeaking!” Tosh ran the mouse across her workstation, so they could all hear it.
“Oil get the I’ll,” Ianto assured her, setting his tray down and frowning, wondering why that didn’t sound quite right. Shrugging, he wandered off. Squeaking mouse. Couldn’t have that!
