A/N: Double drabble.
It was late, and Jack was annoyed. He’d sent Ianto home hours ago, expecting to join him as soon as he finished up the last few bits of paperwork on his desk and dealt with a phone call he was expecting, but instead, just as he’d been about to leave, there’d been a Rift alert.
It had been nearby, something small, not worth calling anyone in to help, and hadn’t taken long to deal with, but then there’d been a Weevil…
Still, he was home now, and he slipped inside Ianto’s small house, closing the door quietly behind him, but not bothering with the lights. Fifty-first century eyesight was far better than the twenty-first century version, he could see well enough in the dark to make his way upstairs and into the bedroom. All he had to do was tiptoe, quiet as the proverbial mouse, and slip into bed without waking Ianto.
That was the theory. In practice, things didn’t quite go to plan.
Somehow, he miscounted the stairs, tripped on the top one, crashed into the wall, and fell over.
The light came on.
“Jack? What the Hell?”
“Sorry. I was trying to be quiet.”
“I see. Very stealthy.”
