A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto had arranged the team’s work rota so that he and Jack got to have one weekend off together out of every four. It wasn’t greedy, everyone else got a two-day weekend every month as well, but with four children, it was important to spend quality time together as a family, even when they couldn’t go anywhere.
January was bitterly cold this year, no snow yet but temperatures struggling to rise above freezing during the day. Despite being inexhaustible balls of energy, even the twins were reluctant to venture outside in the cold, preferring to run around indoors like small, but devastatingly destructive whirlwinds.
Completely drained from trying to wear the youngsters out, Jack had collapsed onto the sofa beside his husband over an hour ago. Now he twitched nervously.
“Ianto? It’s gone quiet, maybe we should check on the kids, make sure they’re not getting up to anything they shouldn’t.”
“No need, everything’s fine.” Ianto snuggled deeper into his husband’s embrace, relaxed and content.
“How can you be sure?”
“Look at Nosy.”
The Fluff was dozing, coiled up comfortably in one of the armchairs.
“It’s half asleep.”
“Exactly. If there was anything to worry about, it would tell us.”
