A/N: Double drabble.
Ryo had always thought giving in to his attraction towards men would change him in some fundamental way, that he’d no longer be the man he thought he was, but now that he’d stopped trying to fight against his own desires, he found the reverse to be true. He was more himself now that he was with Dee than he’d ever been in the past.
Before, he’d been like a shadow of his true self, but since accepting that he was gay, it was as if he’d unlocked something inside himself that finally allowed him to reach his full potential. Far from being scary, it made him feel alive in ways he never would have imagined before. He’d been sleepwalking through his own life, never realising how much better it could be.
Okay, so maybe he wasn’t fully adjusted to his new reality yet, but he was getting there, like a tree in spring, awakening from its long winter sleep… He smiled to himself at his absurd analogies, and yet at the same time acknowledged that there was some truth in them. Dee had woken a part of him he’d been trying to repress. There was no going back now.
