A/N: Double drabble.
Jack cursed himself for a fool. What had he been thinking, just coming back to the Hub after the day’s bizarre events? He should have stayed well away, contacted Ianto and Gwen, told them to lock down the base and stay put. But he’d just been killed and revived, alone; dying always seemed to mess up his critical thinking for a while afterwards, and because of that he may well have doomed what remained of his team.
There was a bomb inside him, it must have been implanted while he was dead, and if Gwen hadn’t been using the scanner when he came in, they would never have known. But they DID know, there just wasn’t time to do anything about it. In a very short while, Jack was literally going to explode, taking the Hub and everything in it with him. He’d die, again, but that didn’t mean Ianto and Gwen had to.
They were being their usual stubborn selves though, not wanting to leave him to his fate, and he was desperate to make them see reason. If they died, they wouldn’t come back, but he might.
Ianto resisted, but Jack prevailed; he prayed it wasn’t too late.
