A/N: Double drabble.
Of all the Torchwood Three team, Owen was the one Ianto had the most trouble getting along with. Even Suzie, before she’d gone off the rails and become a serial killer, had been less abrasive, mostly keeping to herself.
Tosh was quiet, reserved, highly intelligent, and good company. Gwen was a bit too touchy-feely, and definitely too nosy for Ianto’s comfort, but tolerable. Jack was… Jack: flirty, inappropriate, with no respect for personal space, but so charming that he could get away with anything. Owen, however, was a prickly customer, all snark and insults, pushing everyone’s buttons, daring his teammates to react.
Ianto snarked back, of course, traded insult for insult, frequently winning the battle of barbs. Even so, it wasn’t easy to remain calm in the face of constant provocation, and Ianto got the distinct impression that Torchwood’s medic simply didn’t want people to like him. He went out of his way to antagonise practically everyone he met, and he seemed to take particular delight in goading Ianto.
Really, it was a miracle Ianto had managed to resist the temptation to shoot him for as long as he had. Owen was lucky to get off with a shoulder wound.
