“Don’t know why you wear fancy suits for work,” Owen said as he cut away Ianto’s trouser leg in order to get at the gash in his colleague’s thigh. “Waste of money, considering how many get ruined. This is what, the third this month?”
“Second,” Ianto corrected. “The one that got covered in alien slime just needed a good clean. It’s perfectly fine now.”
“Still, the way you go through suits I don’t know how you can afford it. At least the rest of us only have to throw out what gets damaged, but you rip your trousers and that’s the whole suit done for. Plus they’re way more expensive than the stuff the rest of us wear.”
Personally, Ianto didn’t think that was the case. Okay, so Owen looked like he shopped at discount clothing stores, but Ianto knew Gwen had a preference for expensive designer labels.
“I like to look smart, what’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing, if you don’t mind the waste.”
Ianto could have told Owen he’d discovered a device in the archives that could repair most of the damage done to his wardrobe, but why should he? It was one of the perks of his job.
