A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
When JJ heard the word ‘Split’ coming from Dee’s lips, his heart leapt. He’d had a feeling something might be going on between Mr Wonderful and Ryo, but from the sound of it, whatever it had been, Dee had called a halt to it. Maybe that meant he was finally ready to see sense!
Then Dee and his partner entered the squad room, both of them laughing, and JJ’s heart sank again. If there was a rift developing between the man of his dreams and their colleague, it didn’t show.
“What’s going on?” he asked, because he had an enquiring mind, and Dee was clearly amused by something. Anything that made him laugh like that was something JJ wanted to know about.
“The suspect we were chasing tried to escape over a chain-link fence,” Ryo said, grinning. “He was just swinging his leg over the top when his pants split.”
“Wasn’t just a little bit,” Dee added. “Tore the whole crotch, and ya wanna know the best bit? No underwear! So there he was, straddlin’ the top of the fence, with his tackle hangin’ out, swingin’ in the breeze… Dude just froze, didn’t dare move either way in case he caught somethin’ sensitive on the barbed wire runnin’ along the top of the fence.”
“We had to climb up and rescue him,” Ryo said.
“It was freakin’ hilarious! Took us a good fifteen minutes to get him down. Never seen anyone so happy to get shoved in a cop car.”
