Falling head over heels in love with a man who insisted he wasn’t interested went so far beyond mere frustration as to be in another zip code, maybe another universe entirely. Dee felt like he was banging his head against a brick wall. How was he supposed to prove to Ryo that the love he felt was genuine, that he wanted more from his partner than sex?
Regarding anything work-related, he knew Ryo trusted him completely, but when it came to matters of the heart, he automatically assumed Dee was lying. That stung; Dee had never been less than honest and open with his partner, some would say he was too honest for his own good, but that was how he’d been raised. Honesty was second nature to him, and considering how long they’d been working together, Dee had thought Ryo would have figured that out by now.
Maybe it wasn’t Dee’s feelings that Ryo was doubting but his own… Dee growled in annoyance, whether at himself or at Ryo he wasn’t sure. He didn’t know whether to back off and give Ryo some space or keep trying to convince him, but he had to do something, otherwise he’d explode!
