“Good God, that’s not what anyone wants to see this early in the morning!”
Working for Torchwood, Ianto had seen many strange and sometimes terrible sights, but none so unexpected and unnatural. He could hardly be blamed for the way he reacted; it was enough to stop anyone in their tracks.
Owen was wearing shorts, his pale, hairy legs and knobbly knees on display for all the world to see. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he was wearing regular socks with his trainers, just pushed down to his ankles.
“Up yours, teaboy! I’ve seen you in shorts when the weather’s hot,” Owen grumbled.
“Yes, well, mine aren’t tight bicycle shorts, and I don’t look like an overgrown schoolboy whose socks won’t stay up,” Ianto said, a pained expression on his face. “Are you attending a weird costume party later?”
“It’s nearly ninety out there, and not much cooler in here! I don’t judge the way you dress!”
“Actually you do, all the time.”
“Well that’s because you dress like a twat, so you can just shut up.”
“Couldn’t you have picked something a bit…” Ianto trailed off.
“I’ve put on a few pounds, none of my other shorts fit!”
