A/N: Double drabble.
‘It’s not my fault,’ JJ tells himself. ‘If anyone’s to blame, it’s Dee; he’s too attractive. No one should have so much personal magnetism; I’m powerless to resist.’
It’s an easy excuse for JJ to believe. He’s felt drawn to Dee since the first moment they met, back at the police academy. Breaking Dee’s nose had been an inauspicious start, it’s true, but that had been an accident. JJ would never deliberately hurt the man of his dreams, and at least the incident had gotten Dee’s attention.
Okay, so Dee hadn’t been happy, clutching his bloody nose, and it hadn’t been the best first impression JJ could have made, but Dee had certainly known who he was after that.
On the other hand, maybe if JJ hadn’t made such a painful first impression, Dee might not still be so determined to avoid him. Not that he can now they’re working together.
The attraction is still there, just as strong as it had been eight years ago. At least, it is for JJ. Dee’s very presence tugs at him like a magnet, urging him to get closer, to bask in Dee’s presence.
No matter how close he gets, it’s never enough.
