“Did you see what happened?” a voice asked. The Doctor turned around.
“Hello.”
“Name’s Matt Richmond. I’m a reporter, looking for witnesses to whatever just happened. Was it aliens? An invasion? What happened to them?”
“Aliens? No, I wouldn’t think so. Why would aliens come here? I mean, it’s a bit…” The Doctor pulled a face. “Not that this isn’t a nice little town, but if aliens wanted to invade earth, they’d land in London. That’s where it usually starts.”
“Usually?”
“Yes, lots of times.”
“How d’you know?”
“I’m an alien. Bye!”
The Doctor stepped into his TARDIS and vanished.
