Diana was a little bit miffed. She liked Ryo, a lot, and she could certainly understand why Commissioner Rose would be attracted to the handsome young detective. It wasn’t like she hadn’t already known Berkeley was bisexual; they’d been friends for a long time, although Diana had always held out the hope that they might someday become more than just friends…
Maybe it was a touch of jealousy because of the way Berkie would forget all about her the moment Ryo came in view. Diana didn’t want to be jealous, especially not of Ryo, because she knew he wasn’t interested in his superior, and he probably wasn’t even aware of being lusted after. He was a sweet guy, but totally oblivious to being hit on. Still, she hated being made to feel invisible. She was a beautiful, intelligent, competent woman, and sexy as hell. Why couldn’t Berkie see that?
Probably it was because of their long friendship. Familiarity breeds contempt, wasn’t that how the saying went? He was used to seeing her, he knew what she looked like. Well, not anymore.
High heels, short skirt, new hairdo… She was gonna sashay right into his office and make him take notice!
