A/N: Double drabble.
As its heroic Captain battled the vicious monster, Coat felt an unpleasant tug and then a ripping sensation as one of its seams split open.
‘Bugger,’ it thought. ‘There goes my left sleeve.’ There was nothing Coat could do about it in the middle of a pitched battle with this brute of an alien though.
Coat had nothing against helping its Captain fight; that was a significant part of its job. Fighting at close quarters, however, often resulted in unfortunate damage to both of them. Torchwood’s leader was already bleeding from several deep wounds, the blood smearing Coat’s fabric and mixing with mud and rain.
Flipping its hem up, Coat managed to wrap around the alien’s arm, ensnaring its bladed weapon just long enough for the Captain to raise his gun and fire. The alien toppled backwards, dragging Captain and Coat with it.
Moments later, Coat’s Captain was dragging himself slowly and painfully to his knees, examining the damage to both their persons. Coat’s left sleeve was hanging by a few threads at the shoulder, a nasty injury but it could have been worse.
Jack sighed. “At least we won.”
‘As if there was any doubt. We’re an unbeatable team.’
